Writing- writing processs; write daily on assigned and self-selected topics for a variety of purposes;  write using a variety of forms;  use appropriate punctuation, capitalization, and parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb); use complete sentences; write a variety of sentences; share writing; indent the beginning of a paragraph; and write legibly and neatly.

Word Study-  use the prefixes dis, mid, mis, and pre and base words to determine word meaning; apply knowledge of vowel patterns and consonant sounds; use irregular plural nouns; use plural possessive nouns; use synonyms for overused words; and use similes and metaphors
